Volunteer with Maji

Welcome to the Maji Movement! The Maji Movement is a non-profit organization that improves access to clean water for families in Tanzania with a focus on community empowerment and sustainability. Community members learn to properly build, install and maintain Biosand filters, while simultaneously deepening their understanding of the importance of clean water on one’s overall health.

To fulfill our mission, we connect villages in Tanzania with schools based in the United States by bringing the discussion of the global water crisis into the classroom setting. Students become empowered to contribute to a more equitable future through advocacy and fundraising efforts as they help our projects in Tanzania come full circle.
